The Department of Health Sciences no longer conducts open advising due to the high volume of students. If you need an individual advising appointment, please call the office at 216-523-7479 to speak with an advisor or 216-687-3567 to reach the main office to schedule an appointment with an advisor who will be happy to meet with you. However, we ask that you come prepared and have done all of the following before your advising appointment.
WE PROVIDE ADVISING FOR THE MAJOR ONLY. The College of Science Advisors provide assistance with general education requirements and college requirements. Please refer to www.csuohio.edu/sciences/dept/advising/ for college advising information.
ADVISING FOR THE HEALTH SCIENCES MAJOR:
- Read the website for general information about the Health Sciences major, including the overview of all the programs. Come prepared with questions.
- Please bring a copy of any official or unofficial transcripts to the appointment, including a copy of your CSU records so that we may look at your coursework and determine which courses apply to the major. We do NOT want to have to print out your records for you as this takes too much time. So, please come prepared.
- If you completed coursework from another school, we need to see the transfer credit evaluation completed by CSU admissions. If course equivalencies have not been determined by admissions (for example BIO 1500 from Tri-C is equal to BIO 200 at CSU), but the course did transfer to CSU as a general course (for example, a science or social science), please bring a course description so we may evaluate whether we will apply the course to the major.
- If you are an international student, you must have your records evaluated by the Center for International Students Program. Contact information and application requirements are available at http://www.csuohio.edu/offices/international/. Please complete all requirements listed before making an appointment with HSC for advising.
