Assistant Professor, Tenure-Track, Full-Time Faculty, in Molecular and Cellular Biology
The Department of Biological, Geological, and Environmental Sciences at Cleveland State University invites applications for a tenure-track, full-time Assistant Professor position beginning August 20th, 2012. Cleveland is a center for biomedical research, of which Cleveland State University is an integral part. This position is intended to complement existing strengths in our doctoral program jointly offered with the Lerner Research Institute of the Cleveland Clinic. We seek candidates working on significant biological problems at the cellular and molecular level, with emphasis on biomedical relevance. Salary commensurate with qualifications and competitive startup funds will be provided. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in biology or a related field, minimum of 3 years of post-doctoral experience, a record of publications in appropriate peer-reviewed journals, and demonstrated potential for excellence in research and teaching. The successful candidate is expected to establish an independent, externally funded research program, to supervise graduate and undergraduate research, to teach with excellence at both the graduate and undergraduate levels, and to provide Departmental and University service.
