Cleveland State University Board of Trustees invites nominations and applications for President of Cleveland State University (“CSU”).

A metropolitan university located in the heart of Cleveland, CSU provides a rich environment for engaged learning in a dynamic location. The CSU campus occupies 85 acres in downtown Cleveland with 40 buildings used for teaching, research, housing, administration, and recreation. Extended campuses are in Westlake and Solon. The University’s $200-plus million dollar campus master plan, “Building Blocks for the Future,” is changing the landscape of the campus and the City of Cleveland.

Enrolling approximately 16,000 students, CSU offers more than 1,000 courses which support 200 major fields of study at the undergraduate and graduate levels, as well as professional certificate and continuing education programs. CSU employs 570 faculty members and over 1,000 staff members and is organized in eight colleges which include the Colleges of Business Administration, Education and Human Services, Engineering, Law, Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, Science, Urban Affairs, and Graduate Studies.

The University maintains a significant number of partnerships and relationships in the community, and is poised to play an important role in the economic development of the region. CSU is part of the consortium of Universities affiliated with Northeastern Ohio Universities Colleges of Medicine and Pharmacy (“NEOUCOM”) which is the free standing medical school in Rootstown, Ohio. CSU also has a partnership with the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic to launch new programs that will increase scientific knowledge, meet the medical needs of the region and beyond, and increase the availability of medical science and technology professionals in the area.

Reporting to the Board of Trustees, the President is the chief academic and administrative officer of CSU. The President provides the vision and leadership for further advancement of the institution as guided by its mission and values. This individual must have a firm commitment to academic excellence and student success. A successful candidate for this role should have demonstrated leadership skills and administrative experience, the ability to develop resources and opportunities to advance the mission of the institution, and a proven ability to successfully work with internal and external constituencies. This individual should also have excellent academic credentials and impeccable personal integrity.
