VEHICLE IMPOUNDING

Parking Services is authorized to remove impound and/or enter illegally parked motor vehicles on University property at the owners expense.

This policy is to ensure that all parking patrons have equal access to the parking faciilities with the minimum amount of risk to their vehicles.

A vehicle may be towed under the following conditions:

• The vehicle constitutes a traffic or hazard.
• The vehicle is illegally parked in a disabled space, handicapped access space (striped spaces next to handicap spaces) reserved space.
• The amount for unpaid citations recorded for an individual exceeds $100.
• The vehicle displays an altered or counterfeit hangtag.
• The vehicle is abandoned or otherwise considered a derelict vehicle.

VEHICLE RECOVERY

To recover a towed vehicle, the individual responsible must report it to the
Office of Parking Servies Chester Building Annex, Room 128 and make arrangements for the release of the vehicle.

Parking Services requires that the following be met before a vehicle will be released:

Payment of all parking fines
Payment for all storage fees and towing charges  
   (including 8% tax on towing charges and 8% tax on the total    amount of storage fees)
Possession of a valid driver's license

The Parking staff is on campus available to assist with vehicle release on:
Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm

Vehicles can be retrieved from impoundment daily between the hours of:

Monday - Friday
8:00am - 6:00pm

ABANDONED VEHICLES

A vehicle left unattended for more than 72 hours without a valid hangtag will be considered abandoned and impounded at the owner's expense. It is the owner's responsibility to contact Parking Services if he/she knows the vehicle will be left unattended for more than 24 hours.
