Who better to help you make the leap to Cleveland State than people who have recently had personal experience with the social and academic challenges of being a new college student? Your orientation leaders are available to answer your questions and provide real-life answers, communicate with you over the summer, support you once you arrive on campus, and provide you with academic and social experiences. Freshmen Orientation Leaders

Advice to new students: Get involved! Don't just go to class and leave, hang out on campus and enjoy the fun parts of college!
Advice to parents: Just because you and your child have a cell phone, that doesn't mean you have to use it all the time. Let your child call you when he or she is not busy.
Favorite thing about CSU: Living on campus and meeting new people.

Advice to new students: Get involved and make new friends.
Advice to parents: Always encourage your student to reach for their goals.

Advice to new students: Come to school with a positive attitude and do not lose your motivation. Have an open mind to new experiences and new people. Do not be afraid to ask questions. Get involved and try to make these your best years.
Advice to parents: Don't be afraid to let go. Make sure you call your child often so they won't feel alone. Be confident in your choices as well as your child's. Be prepared for crazy stories!
Favorite thing about CSU: My favorite thing about CSU is the fact that it helped me to grow up faster and experience the real world.

Advice to new students: Don't get behind in class; it's a lot harder to catch up than it is to work ahead.
Advice to parents: Send care packages and call your student! They will appreciate it.

Advice to new students: Try and be as organized as possible! College is all about the choices you make. So make sure you balance out work and play, because no one wants to fail a class that you worked hard to pay for.
Advice to parents: Trust your kids.

Advice to new students: I found it is most important to make time to have fun and relax as well as to study.
Advice to parents: Send mail to your children because we all love to find something in our mailboxes.
Favorite thing about CSU: I love the RTA pass because it makes traveling around Cleveland very easy. Plus riding the Rapid is fun; trains rock!

Advice to new students: Never order the fish…just kidding! Relax and simply remain focused and you shouldn't have any problems. Make a point of finding something during your first year at CSU that engages you in the university somehow…you'll thank me later!
Advice to parents: Encourage and support your child, but do not force them into something they're not ready for.
Favorite thing about CSU: I love that CSU is right here in Cleveland . I can save money by living at home and go to school in the city that I love.
