Grievance Victories at CSU

In the past five years the grievance process has been able to achieve victories:

  • Protecting faculty rights in workload assignments;
  • Protecting the rights of faculty to equitable access to professional leave;
  • Protecting assistant and associate professors against violations of the promotion and tenure procedure;
  • Protecting untenured faculty against arbitrary non-continuation decisions;
  • Protecting tenured faculty against arbitrary sanction and/or dismissal charges; and
  • Protecting faculty access to personnel files and reinforcing the right to respond to statements in personnel files.

We have a strong grievance process and we have had success in dealing with these potential violations of rights only because we have a collective bargaining agreement. If you ever need this process, it will be there for you.
