Background

The Ohio Higher Education Computing Conference (OHECC) has been a viable organization for over 30 years. During that time, OHECC and its member schools have had good relationships with many vendors as we have all worked cooperatively to enhance our respective technical environments and infrastructures. The many vendors who have attended our conference over the years have found it a valuable conference where they can meet, present, and discuss their products and services directly with those people who purchase technology for their institutions. The OHECC Program Committee would like to take the next step and solidify the relationships OHECC member schools have with our sponsoring vendors. The “Vendor Area” has become a fixed and valuable part for all OHECC conferences.

Conference Vendor Sponsorship

The program committee has standardized vendor sponsorship at our conferences.

We established standard levels of vendor support: Silver, Gold and Platinum

  • We standardized the meaning, cost and benefits for each level
  • We have created a standing OHECC.ORG website where conference information, vendor information and links can be available

Stategic Alliance Parterships

The OHECC Program Committee has approved a Strategic Alliance Partnership for any vendor willing to engage in continuous sponsorship of OHECC conferences at the Platinum level.

Strategic Alliance Partners will be listed in a special section of OHECC.ORG. They may also be listed on each conference site’s web pages but will be permanently listed on OHECC.ORG.

Strategic Alliance Partner will be engaged with the OHECC Program Committee and member schools throughout the year.

Proposed “Strategic Alliance Partner” Program

OHECC will provide for any Strategic Alliance Partner:

  • Email access to the current program committee, and via this committee, all OHECC School Contacts
  • A link on OHECC.ORG to their main web site indicating they are a Strategic Alliance Partner
  • The ability to list special purchasing arrangements or business opportunities of any significant nature on the OHECC.ORG Strategic Alliance Partner page
  • The ability to participate in any state-wide problem solving or solution investigation meetings that the OHECC program committee is aware of and feels to be a fit with the vendor’s products/services IF the meeting participants agree to the vendor’s participation.

Strategic Alliance Partners will provide the following to OHECC schools and/or their students, faculty and staff:

  • Continued sponsorship of OHECC Conferences at the Platinum Level (Strategic Alliance Partner must sponsor two consecutive OHECC Conferences to become eligible for this level)
  • Access to special buying programs extended to all faculty, staff and students of OHECC member schools
  • Access to industry specialists that may be used for individual school or group problem solving and solutions research
  • Access to industry specialists that OHECC may use as keynote or program speakers at upcoming OHECC conferences

Special Notes:

  • This agreement does not supersede nor change any existing IUC contract arrangement with the State of Ohio or any individual OHECC school.
  • This program does not violate and is not intended to replace or augment the existing IUC Purchasing Group contracts.
  • If products are purchase from our partners, all appropriate bidding processes need to be followed as dictated by each OHECC school’s Board of Trustees.
  • OHECC schools are not obligated to engage with any partner for any project or purchases. Partners are provided for the convenience of OHECC schools in finding an appropriate vendor.
  • This program has been reviewed by a state purchasing director who feels this is not in violation of any purchasing regulations in the state.
