Emergency Phones

Emergency PhoneEmergency Blue Light phones are strategically located throughout the exterior areas of the campus and in parking facilities. Upon picking up the receiver or pushing the button, you will be in immediate contact with a Dispatcher at CSU Police Headquarters. Each time an emergency phone is activated, an officer is sent to investigate. A map of all emergency phones is located at http://emphones.

To report an emergency inside University buildings, use a Campus Dial phone, and dial 911.

The CSU Police Department phone number is programmed into all Digital Telephones installed on campus. This feature provides speed dialing to the Police Department when the designated button labeled "POLICE" is pushed.

In an EMERGENCY, you can:

  1. Pick up your telephone;
  2. Press the "POLICE" button;
  3. Give the police dispatcher time to pick up;
  4. Give the police dispatcher your location and describe your emergency.

    Or, if you have a SPEAKERPHONE, there is an audible way to use the "POLICE" button without lifting the receiver off its cradle:
  1. Push your extension button;
  2. Push the "POLICE" emergency button without picking up the phone. (This puts the phone in speaker mode -- the dial tone and ringing will be audible).
  3. The ringing will continue until the dispatcher responds.

    Please use the campus phones and emergency phones to report suspicious activity, crimes in progress, and fire or medical emergencies.
