Crime Alert - 8/12/12 - Attempted Robbery

The following incident took place on or near the CSU Campus.

Incident Description:
Two women reported the attmpted robbery of their cell phones
Suspect Description:
Two men on BMX bicycles. One described as approximately 5'5" with a small black handgun. The other was approximately 5'7". Both were wearing dark clothing and rode off westbound on Euclid Ave.

Recent thefts have targeted smart phones. It is recommended that smart phones be kept out of sight when walking in public areas.

As an added precaution, University officials are reminding the campus community about practices that can increase personal safety and help deter crime. Walk with bag straps secured around your body. Stay alert, be aware of your surroundings and use well-lit public walkways. When possible, walk with a friend and avoid cell phone use when traveling.
