For telephone repair service, call the Telephone Coordinator at 687-3880 or email telephone.repair@csuohio.edu. Please provide all pertinent information:

      1. Your name
      2. CSU id number
      3. Department from which phone is located
      4. The extension number that is having the problem
      5. The location of the phone
      6. Give a detailed description of the problem you are having with you phone
      7. Contact number to be reached

Authorization Codes

An authorization code is to be used by students that reside in Viking Hall so that they may be able to dial off campus. A code can be setup with a calling plan that is preferred by the student: local only, local and 800, or long distance (includes local and 800 calling).

To receive this code, the student must fill out the authorization code contract and return to the Telecommunications Department for processing. (Include link to authorization code contract).

Viking Hall Voicemail Information for the NEAXMail Messaging System

When you move into Viking Hall, you will receive information from Residence Life regarding your telephone number.

Each individual in the room will share the same telephone number but will have their own voicemail box. If you are bed number 1, then you are box If you are bed number 2, then you are box number 2.

The first time that you are trying to login to your voicemail box, your temporary password will be ‘12345’. After entering in this password, you will be prompted to change your name, greeting and password.

If you ever need to change the password for your voicemail box, (i.e. your forgot your password or your password is not working), you will need to call the Telecommunications office (687-3881) and your password will be given a temporary password so that you may access your voicemail. When calling the Telecommunications office, you will need to provide the following information:

Below is information regarding how to access your voicemail and various features that are available to you.

Voicemail Access Number

        Dial 2001 when on campus or dial 687-2001 when off campus.

To Access Your Voicemail

From your own extension:
            Dial 2001. If you are bed 1, press 1. If you are bed 2, press 2.

From another extension:
            Dial 2001 and press the *.
            Enter your Login ID and press #.
            Enter your password.

From an outside line:
            Dial 687-2001 and press the *
            Enter your Login ID and press #.
            Enter your password.

Voicemail Summary Instructions

From your extension:

To listen to your messages
            1. Dial 2001. If you are bed 1, press 1. If you are bed 2, press 2. Enter your password when prompted.
            2. Press 7 (to play messages)
            3. After listening to your messages, press 3 to discard the message.
            4. To exit the system press 9 or you can simply hang up.

To change your personal greeting
            1. Dial 2001. If you are bed 1, press 1. If you are bed 2, press 2. Enter your password when prompted.
            2. Press 8 (setup options)
            3. Press 1 for “Greetings & transfers”
            4. Press 1 to change greeting
            5. Press 1 to rerecord greeting
            6. Press the * key to go back to main menu

To change your password (if you know what you password is)
            1. Dial 2001. If you are bed 1, press 1. If you are bed 2, press 2. Enter your password when prompted.
            2. Press 8 (setup options).
            3. Press 3 Personal Settings.
            4. Press 1 to change password.
            5. Press the * key to go back to main menu.

If you do not know your password, please call Telecommunications at 687-3881 and we will reset your password for you.

Viking Hall Dormitory accounts are restricted by class of service – all prompts that you hear may not be active in your voicemail.

Overview of Student Billing

Student telephone bills are produced by the Telecommunications Department around the 25th of each month. The billing is delivered to the Residence Life Office where they will place in student mailboxes. The billing contains information regarding call charges against the student’s authorization code.

Any questions regarding billing should be directed to the Telecommunications Department at 687-3881.
