Getting Help
It is important to note that the Microsoft Academic Student Select License does NOT include any free support. The University Bookstore maintains a wide selection of computer books covering the products available through this program. In addition, free books for online reference and free online training are available from CSU at

Online Documentation for Operating Systems:
From within Windows, you can select help from the start menu.

Online Documentation for Office Products:
The first time you launch any of the Office products, you will see what is called an "Office Assistant" open up in the lower right hand corner of the screen. At any time you can click on this icon and type in a phrase or question. You will also see a help menu at the top of the screen.

Printed Documentation:
Unfortunately, printed documentation is not included in the CSU Microsoft Enterprise License Agreement. The University Bookstore carries a wide selection of third-party Microsoft documentation from publishers such as Que, Osborne, DDC, and the IDG Dummies series, as well as titles from Microsoft Press. The bookstore also can special-order materials that they do not have in stock.

In addition, CSU provides students, faculty & staff free online training and reference books at

Patches & Updates:
