Our Responsibilities:

Student Training
Although we do not directly support student learning, we do provide free online training.

Staff and Faculty Training
Our group is responsible for providing training to all staff and faculty on technology - this includes:

  • Use of technology in the classroom

  • Use of technology in the office

  • Software-specific training

In these roles, we team up with other IS&T areas and with the Center for Academic Technology Services staff to ensure that the staff and faculty needs are met to our best ability by the appropriate combination of people.

Formats (Training Media):

We provide training in the following areas:

  • Classroom training - we schedule courses on most commonly requested training topics. These courses are available to staff and faculty. (Course Schedule)

  • Skillport - CSU’s online training system which can be accessed from work or home.  SkillPort is available free to students, faculty and staff. To access a class, go to http://wapps.csuohio.edu:7001/SkillSoft/index.jsp and use your CSU ID and CampusNet password.

  • Specialized Training - upon request, we will provide training to small groups of faculty and staff, such as departments. Topics will include all those on the Classroom training list, but other topics may be available if we feel we can provide appropriate expertise. To discuss specialized training needs, please contact Rowen Garcia or call at 875-9993.

  • One-on-one training - upon request, we will try to provide one-on-one training. However, this will be dependent upon the topic, our expertise in the topic, and your needs. If we are unable to provide support, we will try to recommend an appropriate area for you to receive more help. To discuss specialized training needs, please contact  Rowen Garcia or call at 875-9993.
