1) Can I use Outlook Express? It's simpler than Outlook and has all the functions I want.

A. Yes, Outlook Express is also supported. You will need a one-time set-up and then you are good to go.

2) If I use Outlook Express, Outlook or Eudora at my office, can I access my CSU email from elsewhere by web?

A. Depends. When you set-up Eudora, Outlook, Outlook Express or other systems, check for the Remove from Server setting (may be worded as "Leave a copy of messages on the server" or something similar). What I recommend is setting this to leave the email on the server for 10 days This will set your email onto your desktop, but you will be able to access your last ten days of mail via the web anywhere. AND, if this setting is available, also select "Remove from server when deleted from 'Deleted Items'" Checking the option to remove when deleted means that if you are on your Outlook (or whatever) at home and you delete the message then empty your trash, the message will also be deleted from the server - the server understands that you REALLY don't want that message.

3) Will I be able to use Mozilla or Netscape messenger (rather than Outlook or Eudora)?

A. Mozilla does not provide an email system, but you can use it to access Webmail. Netscape messanger will work after setup. Basically, the email system supports IMAP and POP protocols

4 ) What is the limit on attachments?

A. 2mb - the size of attachments has increased, meaning that you can now send larger attachments and receive larger attachments. In addition, we have NO limits on server space for email.

7) What is my password?

A. Your password is the same as your CampusNet, network, Internet, SkillPort, and ePortfolio password - your CampusPass. If you use Campus Deskmail, your password may be different, but can be re-set within Campus Deskmail to match the others. Contact the Call Center at 687-5050 if you need help with your CampusPass or with your Deskmail password.
