All international students (F-1 & J-1 visas) are required to carry health insurance while attending Cleveland State University. Your Treasury Service account will be billed for the Aetna Student Health Insurance Plan upon registration for classes. Students are protected by the plan twenty-four hours a day and coverage remains in force no matter where you are. Coverage terms are for Fall semester and Spring/Summer semester. There is no way to divide the Spring/Summer semester.

Note for Continuing Students: It is very important to note that the date you register for classes or the date the student health insurance plan begins for the semester (whichever date is later) will become the effective date of your student health insurance plan. Thus, registering for classes before the start date of each semester’s insurance plan is the only way to ensure that you will not have gaps in your student health insurance coverage. In order to ensure that you do not have a gap in your student health insurance, you must register for classes before the following dates:

Fall 2008          08/13/2008
Spring 2009     01/17/2009

If you can not register for classes before the above stated dates and you are planning on continuing your academic career at CSU, please email j.cozza@csuohio.edu

There are a limited number of ways to waive the student health insurance fee (see Health Insurance Waiver link below).
