The answers to these questions vary depending on the volume of positions that we are filling. The following is an approximate timeline:

  • From the Vacancy Deadline: it takes approximately two weeks to review the applications and mail out the reference inquiries.
  • Civil Service testing will be arranged in the next two weeks. This will be the first time you will hear from us. (Or you will receive a letter stating that you do not meet the minimum requirements for the position.).
  • Skills testing and interviewing in Human Resources will be arranged in the next two weeks.
  • A list of the top ten applicants will be sent to the department. It is then up to the department to contact the applicants for an interview.
  • A department may take one to three weeks (or longer in some cases) to interview and select a final candidate.
