Definition of the Task group:
SSexC is currently comprised of various members from the CSU Division
of Student Affairs: Student Life, Judicial Affairs, Counseling, Health
& Wellness Services, and campus Police, Safety, and concerned academic
departments. Community participation from Planned Parenthood of Greater
Cleveland and Outreach Educators from the AIDS Task Force of Greater
Cleveland are also represented. Undergraduate and graduate student leaders
and any interested students, faculty and staff are invited to participate
on the committee
Mission
To recognize the need for safer sex and to promote healthy relationships
and reduce risks of unsafe sex practices through education and a supportive
campus climate, with the intent to:
1. Educate about abstinence and safe sex practices
2. Reinforce the non-discrimination rights
of all members of our community
3. Minimize public sexual activity and its
associated risks
4. Reinforce the right to privacy
5. Recognize and address all related issues,
e.g. alcohol and drug use
6. Prevent:
>
unintended and unwanted sexual encounters
>
HIV and other sexually transmitted infections
>
unintended pregnancies
>
abusive and violent relationships
