Students will be placed into English courses based on their ACT or SAT scores as listed below:

Math
Students will be placed into Math courses based on their ACT and SAT scores as listed below. Students with ACT Math scores of 17-26 or SAT Math scores of 400-600 are asked to take the online math test to better identify their placement.

Foreign Language
- Placement Testing Office also administers computerized Spanish and French placement tests.
- The Spanish and French departments can access the test results in order to place students appropriately.
Math
- Students scoring below 16 on the ACT Math or 390 on the SAT Math begin in MTH 087 or MTH 088 with the option of taking the online math test to place higher.
- The online math test can help place students with ACT Math scores 17 - 26 or SAT Math scores 400 - 600 into a math class
- Students scoring 27/600 or more on the ACT/SAT Math will at least be placed into MTH 167 or below.
Other Tests
- Computerized COMPASS tests are also available for Education, Chemistry, and English as a Second Language (ESL).
General Information
- Except for math, all testing is completed in the Academic Services Center, Rhodes Tower West, Room 289. The math placement test is offered online for students and is accessible at any time. Students are not required to be on campus to take the math placement exam.

- You do not need to register for the placement tests. Simply show up during the posted placement testing hours.
- You will need to sign in your name and CSU ID Number.
- A Photo ID is required at sign in.
- CSU accepts AP and PSEOP credits with a CSU advisor's approval.
- Cell phones are not permitted in the Placement Testing area.
- Calculators are not permitted (you may use the calculator built into the computer).
