CSC 121 Career Orientation is a prerequisite for entry into Cooperative Education Program aimed at freshmen and sophomores, but is open to all students seeking top-notch career skills. This comprehensive overview class covers all facets of career education. Beginning with an orientation to career decision-making, students will conduct a personal and online evaluation of their abilities, skills, values, and interests. Current hiring requirements include hands-on interviewing techniques and state-of-the art resume preparation. Job market trends, networking, information interviewing, and policies and procedures of the Cooperative Education Program complete the course. CSC 121 fulfills the eligibility for the Cooperative Education Program. Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory basis only. (1 Credit hour)
CSC 224 Career Exploration is a course geared to undecided
majors and those students who are seeking an in-depth look at their
personal career path. Using a variety of assessments, students identify
their interests, abilities, values and skills and research various majors
and careers that match closely with their results. Resume writing, interviewing,
and portfolio development are key components of this course. Students
also learn about networking effectively, information interviewing, career
decision-making, and job search techniques. Online and traditional methods
are utilized to identify job market trends and potential career fields.
CSC 224 fulfills the eligibility for the Cooperative Education Program.
Graded course (3 Credit hours)
CSC 300 Co-op Field Experience is a field-based course
required of all students working on a co-op assignment and is limited
to students in the Cooperative Education program. Students must complete
an online Student Evaluation and their supervisors must also complete
an online Evaluation in order to receive a Satisfactory grade for the
semester. One hour of credit is awarded for each successful assignment
completed. This credit is not counted toward the number of hours needed
for graduation. It will add academic hours to a student's credit total.

CSC 321 Employment Strategies is a course designed
to prepare juniors and seniors for an effective job search. The course
utilizes a strong hands-on approach to topics including initiating a
personal job campaign, using effective telephone job search techniques,
and discovering the hidden job market. Practical information that can
be applied to an effective job search includes state-of-the-art resume
writing, interviewing skills that get results, and salary negotiations.
How to network and follow-up on job leads as well as initial job problems
complete this course. CSC 321 fulfills the eligibility for the Cooperative Education Program.

CSC 400 Co-op Field Experience is a special field
assignment for students who have completed prior co-op requirements
or participate in community service learning. Students must complete
an online Student Evaluation and their supervisors must also complete
