Women's Studies is an interdisciplinary major that crosses traditional academic boundaries to analyze the role of gender in shaping human societies of the past and present, to communicate new knowledge and encourage research into neglected areas, to comprehend the crucial intersection of race, class, and gender in the global society and in the lives of women, and to develop for women and men the knowledge and skills required for success in rapidly changing contemporary economies.
CAREER OPPORTUNITIES
A Women's Studies major helps students develop the skills that prepare them for leadership in a variety of careers and in reshaping their societies. The major is also excellent preparation for graduate work in Women's Studies or related fields in the humanities and social sciences.
