Our Alumni Careers Newsletter, updated quarterly, will be filled with useful information whether you're looking for a job or have already found one. Each month you will read about practical advice for your job search, Alumni Association news, featured job and company highlights, a profile of a successful CSU alumus/na and important career resources and benefit updates.
We also hope that you will enjoy the new alumni career services website that offers access to one of the most comprehensive career services centers in the country. By using our website, you can gain the competitive edge in employment opportunities and career transition assistance with access to job postings, networking contacts, workshops, career advising and testing (MBTI), and a resume referral program.
If I have already graduated, may I still use Career Services? Certainly! Our services are free for up to one year after you graduate from CSU. If you graduated over one year ago, you may arrange a free half-hour appointment with a career advisor to discuss our services and determine if they are appropriate for you. If you decide that you want to take advantage of the services we provide, there is a minimal alumni fee of $30.00 per year. You may then access the CSUcareerline system, use the library resources, and work with an advisor in Career Services to develop a career plan.
CSUcareerline Benefits
CSUcareerline is an on-line service of the Career Services Center. CSUcareerline will enable you to upload a professional resume, which you may make available to employers. You can also access full-time degreed job postings through the system and, if you choose, email your resume to employers.
To register on CSUcareerline, go to http://csucareerline.experience.com and create your "Profile". Please allow 2-3 business days for the office to process your registration and verify your graduation date and payment, if necessary. You will receive an email when your account has been approved. After your registration is approved, you will be able to access the job postings and upload your resume.
Having difficulties networking? Would you like to help out a fresh CSU graduate? The Career Conversations program helps students meet with professionals with experience in the work force. Professionals get the chance to share their insights, and students gain information which is vital to making informed career related decisions.
Career Conversations offers mutual benefits. Professionals gain the satisfaction of knowing that they aided a future professional, and students gain career information. Career Services estimates that professionals will be contacted approximately four times a year. These conversations last no longer than an hour and will average a half hour in length.
To become involved in Career Conversations simply visit CSUcareerline, click on "Become a Mentor", and fill out the online form. Students and alumni who are registered with our office are able to search this database of mentors. If you have any questions, contact the Career Services Center at (216) 687-2233. Your participation in Career Conversations is greatly appreciated!
