I am pleased to share with you this 2010 Annual Report for the Cleveland State University Foundation.
Under the leadership of former Vice President Peter Anagnostos, we have seen some wonderful examples of generosity during this past year - most notably, a $6 million gift in support of student scholarships from alumnus/foundation board member Bill Julka. Bill attributes his success in business and in life to his education and says he is privileged to provide opportunities for students today and in the future. He leads by example, encouraging others to support Cleveland State University and its students to the best of their ability. His generous gift is the largest single scholarship gift ever received by Cleveland State University.
To Bill and to all other donors and volunteers who have contributed so much in terms of philanthropy and personal time to Cleveland State, thank you. I look forward to working with you in advancing President Ronald M. Berkman's top goal - making more scholarship dollars available to more students.
Scholarships are key to attracting promising students to CSU and graduating them with the knowledge and skills that employers seek in an educated work force. Raising scholarship funds will be the Foundation's primary focus this year.
