Arts District
CSU is moving forward in creating an arts district at PlayhouseSquare. This exciting initiative will combine our University’s departments of arts, theatre, dance, film and digital media into a vibrant arts community proximate to our campus. Additionally, this will create much-needed visibility for CSU artwork and archives. The arts campus will be embedded in Cleveland State and joined with the second- largest theater district in the United States. Since CSU seeks to play a major role in urban revitalization, CSU’s Arts District could play a critical role in the development of the west end of a long, creative corridor, starting in University Circle, continuing through the Cleveland Clinic district and the District of Design, and ending with PlayhouseSquare, which already has a significant economic impact on the city.
