The Student Caller position for the Office of Annual Giving in the Division of University Advancement serves as an ambassador of the University by representing the institution in a positive manner to alumni. Students call alumni to update records, build rapport, provide University information, and solicit funds for the Annual Fund. These unrestricted dollars support programs such as student scholarships, library and laboratory acquisitions, faculty enhancements and research and more.
The student caller is responsible for meeting shift goals as determined by the shift supervisor. At times when calling is not possible, callers may be asked to perform other duties as assigned. These may include, but are not limited to, record keeping, recruiting, filing and other administrative duties. Callers must also be motivated, responsible, energetic, a team player, and have a clear speaking voice as well as a strong command of the English language. Telemarketing/Fund-raising experience is a plus!
