University Advancement

The work of University Advancement is about so much more than fundraising.  Typically, that is how advancement offices are classified, but here at Cleveland State, our thinking is different.

Yes, your dollars can be directed to a number of areas, including but not limited to specific colleges, programs, scholarships, technological upgrades and faculty/staff development.  But, if you will, take a moment to think about the big picture of what you are supporting and what we are in the business of doing.

Cleveland is a place that is on the edge of a great renaissance.  And CSU plays a very large role in that.  As an institution of higher learning, we are directly responsible for the innovation, the human capital, the energy that flows into our region’s banks, hospitals, public schools, manufacturing companies, art galleries, architectural firms and more.  People are always on the vanguard of a revival.  And our “people,” our students, will be the driving force of this great city’s resurgence.

More specifically, as you support this university, you are changing the course of our student’s lives.  As you provide, and we secure, financial resources, it enables the university to provide an experience for our students that will empower them to follow their passions, their talents and their dreams.  And because nearly all of CSU grads remain in Cleveland after graduation, as our student’s lives are changed, they will pour that energy into this region and city.

So, our thinking in University Advancement is much more than being CSU’s fundraising arm.  So much more.  We see the big picture.  We hope you will as well.
