The Upward Bound Program at Cleveland State University aids qualified high school students in generating the skills and motivation necessary to complete high school and to successfully enroll and succeed in postsecondary education.
What is Upward Bound?
Upward Bound Program is a year-round pre-college program for high school students who attend one of the five assigned target high schools in the Cleveland Municipal School District. Upward Bound is a comprehensive program divided into
two phases: the academic year and the summer residential program.
The program provides participants with a variety of academic enrichment and academic support services. Selected students must demonstrate the potential for education beyond high school. Through participation in Cleveland State University's Upward Bound Program, students will learn the necessary academic skills needed to enroll in a college or university.
