The Graduate Certificate in Nursing Education provides Registered Nurses with specific skills needed for the education and clinical supervision of students and staff in clinical settings. Coursework focuses on curriculum development and impementation, faculty and student roles, and the evaluation and supervision of nursing students. Graduates of this program may seek employment in schools of nursing at the LPN or diploma level, continuing education programs, and in organizational and leadership education programs in health care facilities. The program starts every Fall semester.
Students who complete the Graduate Certificate in Nursing Education have completed the educational requirements required to apply for the National League for Nursing’s Certification for Nurse Educators.
Students applying to the program must hold a valid, active license as an RN in the United States and a baccalaureate degree in Nursing with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
