Reception Honors Byron White’s Contributions to CSU

Head of University Engagement is taking new position in Cincinnati

Cleveland State University will honor the contributions of Byron White, CSU’s outgoing Vice President of University Engagement and Chief Diversity Officer, at a reception from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, December 21 at Elements Bistro on campus.

Dr. White has accepted a new position as Vice President of the Knowledge Works Foundation and Executive Director of the Strive Partnership in Cincinnati. This opportunity provides a new career opportunity in education and allows Dr. White to reestablish his home in Cincinnati, where his wife and children reside.

Dr. White has made an enduring difference to CSU. Among many initiatives, he has stewarded unique programs in diversity, career exploration for students, community engagement as well as serving as an ambassador for CSU in a number of community and national organizations. He has often employed his skills as a writer and editor in helping to articulate the University’s mission. He has also been our principal community liaison for the Urban Health Partnership.

“I am thankful for Byron’s passion and commitment to our mission and for all his work to advance it locally and nationally,” says CSU President Ronald M. Berkman. “Join me on December 21 to wish him success in his new leadership of this very important national education foundation and the further development of Project Strive.”
