Ohio State Highway Patrol and Dept. of Public Safety Donate Portable Radios to CSU Police

The Ohio State Highway Patrol and Ohio Department of Public Safety have donated 50 portable radios to the Cleveland State University Police Department. The department received the radios today during a presentation at the Cleveland State University Police Department.

The 50 radios which had previously been used by troopers of the Ohio State Highway Patrol were transferred to the department rather than sending them to state salvage. Clear, effective and reliable communications is critical to a law enforcement agency’s ability to respond to incidents and emergency situations. The radios were provided to assist the department in upgrading their communications capabilities.

“We know inter-agency cooperation and partnerships are critical to improving the services provided by Ohio law enforcement,” said Colonel Paul Pride, Patrol Superintendent. “The Patrol supports local law enforcement and is pleased to have the opportunity to assist the Cleveland State University Police Department by providing these radios.”

“The men and women of the Cleveland State University Police Department value the rich partnership shared with the Ohio State Highway Patrol,” said Chief Gary Lewis.  “We appreciate the portable radios, which will be used to enhance inter-agency communications.”
