Anne Richard, the U.S. assistant secretary of state for population, refugees and migration, will be the keynote speaker at “The Syrian Refugee Crisis: Cleveland's Response,” a forum set for 4 p.m. Friday, February 12, in Cleveland State University’s Drinko Hall, 2001 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland.
Sponsored by the CSU Office of Civic Engagement in collaboration with the Refugee Services Collaborative of Greater Cleveland and the CSU International Law Student Association, the forum also will include a panel discussion on the following topics:
- Syria’s history leading up to the refugee crisis;
- The process of resettlement in Cleveland;
- A firsthand account of immigrating to Cleveland;
- How to support refugees in Northeast Ohio.
The forum is free and open to the public. Middle Eastern cuisine will be provided at the conclusion of the event.
