I am very pleased about the growth of our student enrollment and the success Cleveland State University continues to experience. This would not have been possible without the dedication, hard work and talent of our faculty and staff. I am grateful for the outstanding employees we have and believe that the health and well-being of the campus community is a high priority. Maintaining or improving our health and well-being is important to contribute to the continued success of the University and to enjoy a productive and better quality of life where we work and at home.
Awareness is the first step toward improving overall health. In our first year of the University-sponsored VikeHealth & Well-Being Program, I encourage you to participate in the Know Your Numbers health screening and the online Health Assessment. By completing both of the voluntary health screenings between now and April 19, 2013, you will capture a snapshot of your current health status and learn about the actions you can take to maintain or improve your health and well-being. CSU will use an anonymous summary of the health data to help determine the programs and services that best meet the needs and interests of our faculty and staff.
Once you have specific information regarding your individual health status, it's important that you take action to address the areas of concern. CSU will support you with incentives, tools, resources, programs and services through the VikeHealth & Well-Being Program. This wellness program is designed specifically for CSU faculty and staff and can provide the coaching and support you need to maintain or improve your overall health.
As a reward for participating in the Know Your Numbers health screening and the online Health Assessment, the University offers the VikeHealth Wellness Bonus. Employees who are enrolled in one of the CSU benefit plans are eligible to earn a cash VikeHealth Wellness Bonus starting in July 2013. Employees who work 20 hours or more who are not enrolled in one of our CSU benefit plans are also eligible to earn a bonus. As an additional reward for your efforts to improve or maintain your health and well-being through participation in the VikeHealth & Well-Being Program, the University offers the Healthy Living Rewards points program. By earning VikeHealth points by April 19, 2013, employees can qualify for gift cards. Details are available on the VikeHealth website. Participation to achieve the VikeHealth Wellness Bonus and the Healthy Living Rewards incentives is completely voluntary and your privacy is protected.
We encourage all faculty and staff to take advantage of the benefits the program has to offer. Together, we can work toward making Cleveland State University a healthier community.
