It was standing room only at the Allen Theatre in PlayhouseSquare for a very special tribute to Cleveland State University President Michael Schwartz.

Some 1,000 community and business leaders, faculty, staff, students and friends honored Dr. Schwartz and his wife Joanne, and celebrated the many achievements of his eight-year presidency.

The fun-filled tribute featured a series of short films and guest speakers highlighting Dr. Schwartz’s enormous impact on the University’s academics, campus life, students, and physical campus, as well as CSU’s impact on the city of Cleveland.

In keeping with the theatrical theme, guests received popcorn bags filled with Michael Way candy bars and other treats, and enjoyed hors d’oeuvres and desserts. Dr. Schwartz was presented with a portrait of himself that will be permanently displayed in the University’s newly named Michael Schwartz Library.
