Petition Drive Underway for Distinctive New Design License Plate

Show your University pride and benefit student scholarships by lending your support to a drive to establish a special license plate bearing our new Viking logo.

The University is petitioning the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles to produce the new Cleveland State plate as shown here. For the program to move forward, the Bureau requires signatures from at least 150 people who endorse the idea and are willing to purchase the plates when they become available. Personalized plates, with initials, names or messages, are also available upon request and approval of the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles.

The cost of the distinctive Cleveland State plates will be your annual renewal fee plus an additional $35. But $25 of the added charge comes directly back to the University and will be used to support student scholarships.

Petitions are now circulating on campus to solicit more than the 150 required signatures to be sent to Columbus. Students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends of the University are encouraged to sign a petition supporting the license plate drive.
