First Annual Celebration of Latino Graduates May 1

Cleveland State University’s Office of Diversity and Multicultural Affairs and the Latino Faculty and Staff Association will host the First Annual Celebration of Latino Graduates on Thursday, May 1, 2008 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Fenn Tower Ballroom located at 1983 E. 24th Street. Latino graduates from the Summer 2007, Fall 2007, and Spring 2008 semesters will be recognized and honored. Family members or a guest may accompany the graduate to the Celebration event at no cost.

Graduates will participate in a processional (in gown) along with faculty, degreed staff, and other Latino graduates. Graduates will be acknowledged by the designated dean or faculty member from their respective college.

The purpose of this event is to provide a culturally responsive graduation experience for CSU’s Latino graduates. The evening’s festivities will include a welcome from CSU President Michael Schwartz, a keynote speaker, a buffet dinner, cultural entertainment, recognition of the graduates and their families, and presentation of the Future Leader Award.
