Dr. Ann Bauer, chair of Cleveland State's Counseling Administration department, has extensive experience in:

• School shootings
• School crisis response
• Student grief counseling
• Emotionally disturbed students
• Training school crisis counselors

Dr. Bauer played a key role in the Jonesboro Arkansas school shooting in March 1998. She worked as a counselor in the Geauga County Schools for eight years and is a member of the Ohio Crisis Response Team. She can also address a relatively unknown phenomenon called "Vicarious Victimization," which addresses how other students in the school are traumatized by the event.
