Daniel Hathaway became Director of Music at Trinity Cathedral in 1977 and currently holds the titles of Canon for Music, Art and Worship and Artistic Director of Music & Performing Arts at Trinity, Inc. An active organ recitalist, choral and orchestral conductor, coach and teacher, Hathaway has performed throughout North America and Europe and made his conducting debut in South America at the Teatro Colón, Buenos Aires, Argentina in 2004. He holds an A.B. from Harvard College (1967), an M.Div. from the Episcopal Divinity School (1971) and studied historical musicology in the Doctoral Fellowship program at Princeton (1967-1968). He has studied organ with Jerald Hamilton, Piet Kee, Guy Bovet and Harald Vogel, Improvisation with Peter Planyavsky, Naji Hakiim and Bert Matter, and orchestral conducting at the Berkshire Music Center at Tanglewood.
