FAQs: Giving a Recital

Q: How do I schedule a recital?
A: See Department Secretary Toni Lovejoy as soon as possible to pick up your Recital Packet that includes all the administrative information and forms you will need to plan your recital. Don't forget that the Facilities Request Form must be signed by your private teacher before a performance hall may be reserved by you!

Q: Where and when can I give my recital?
A: With your completed and signed Facilities Request Form, you may reserve either Waetjen Auditorium or Drinko Recital Hall at any available time for your recital. Reservations for these facilities are being made sometimes two years in advance; therefore, for the best selection, you are strongly encouraged to schedule your date as soon as possible.

Q: May I put a recital date on hold until I confirm that that's when I would like to give it?
A: Yes, with your completed and signed Facilities Request Form.

Q: How do I change my recital date/time?
A: See Toni Lovejoy to change the date, time or performance hall for your recital.

Q: May I submit my recital request form without my private teacher or the area coordinator's signature?
A: No. In order to give a recital, you must submit a completed Recital Request Form that has been signed by the appropriate faculty member.

Q: May I rehearse in the performance hall prior to my recital?
A: Yes! When you reserve the hall for you recital, you should schedule rehearsal time as well.

Q: How and to whom do I submit my recital program?
A: One week prior to your recital date, you may submit either an electronic or hard copy of your teacher-approved recital program and program notes/translations to Toni Lovejoy for duplication. To download a sample program over which you can type your recital program, click here.
