Delia V. Galván, Associate Professor of Spanish was born in Mexico City, where she studied business and acquired experience in the international field. She earned a B.A. in Foreign Affairs, and a M.A. and Ph.D. in Romance Languages and Literatures from the University of Cincinnati. Before coming to CSU in 1991, she taught at Bucknell and John Carroll Universities. Her teaching interests are literature and civilization of Spanish America. Her research and publications are on Spanish American women writers of fiction.

Klaus-Peter Hinze, Professor of German.

José J. Labrador, Professor of Spanish was born in Spain and received his Ph.D. from Case Western Reserve University (Cleveland, Ohio) in 1970. He came to Cleveland State University in 1969. He is the author and co-author of 13 books as well as 32 articles dealing with Spanish lyrics of the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. He is the organizer of the Summer Field Trip which goes to Spain in odd-numbered years. He teaches language, civilization and literature classes, and Spanish for Latinos/as.

Dolores P. Lairet, Associate Professor of French.

Laura Martin, Professor of Anthropology and Spanish is an anthropological linguist with special interests in the languages of Mesoamerica. On the CSU faculty in both Anthropology and Modern Languages since 1971, she holds the degrees of B.A. (Spanish), M.A., and Ph.D. (Linguistics) from the University of Florida. She has extensive field work experience in Guatemala and Mexico with speakers of Mocho and Q'anjob'al and is currently pursuing grammatical and discourse analysis of these Mayan languages. She has also published on Spanish dialectology, language and culture, and second-language acquisition.

Diana Orendi, Associate Professor of German.

Anita K. Stoll, Professor of Spanish and Chairperson of the Department: A native Ohioan, Anita Stoll has studied at Wilmington College, Indiana University, University of Wisconsin, La Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, and holds the Ph.D. from Case Western Reserve University. Her teaching and research interests include the broad areas of Spanish and Latin American literature, language, and culture, with publications on the specialized topics of Spanish Golden Age Drama, twentieth-century Mexican literature, and foreign study.

Philippa Brown Yin, Assistant Professor of Spanish and Language Instruction Supervisor holds degrees from Oberlin College, Pennsylvania State University, and Case Western Reserve University. She is also an ACTFL certified oral proficiency examiner in Spanish. Her research work has included pedagogical topics, especially the integration of media in the curriculum and oral proficiency; character development and narrative techniques in the modern Spanish novel; and the cross-fertilization of media and print genres.

C. Ángel Zorita, Professor of Spanish is a native of Valladolid, Spain. He has an A.D. in Theology (Gregorian University, Rome), M.A. in Modern Philology (Madrid), Ph.D. in Spanish literature (Seville). Before coming toCleveland State University, he taught at the University of Madrid and at West Virginia State College. He also has a degree in Latin writing (Gregoriana). He has published on Spanish literature and is currently engaged in the publication of old Spanish song books. He teaches Vergil's Aeneid in addition to courses in the Spanish language, literature, and civilization.
