About This Agreement

July 1, 2004
Through a state-wide initiative of the Inter-University Council (IUC), fifteen Ohio colleges and universities have negotiated a licensing agreement with the Microsoft Corporation.

The new program is in the following form:

1)      CSU has entered into a Student Select Agreement which will be managed by the CSU Bookstore.  This program allows students to purchase Office and OS upgrades at significant discounts.

2)      CSU has entered into a Select Agreement for University purchases of most Microsoft software including most application and server products.

3)      CSU has entered into a Campus Agreement with Microsoft to provide Client Access Licenses (Cals) to all students, faculty, and staff that will allow them to access University Windows Servers when such rights are granted to them.

The IUC/Microsoft schools are:
University of Akron
Bowling Green State University
Central State University
University of Cincinnati
Cleveland State University
Kent State University
Medical College of Ohio
Miami University
NEOCOM
Ohio University
Ohio State University
Shawnee State University
University of Toledo
Wright State University
Youngstown State University

While this license agreement will simplify software distribution and lower the costs for the university and students, it is important to note that a licensing and distribution process is still required. All university faculty, staff and students should make sure they have read and understand the terms of the license agreement and follow the procedures outlined at this web site. Individuals who fail to follow the terms and procedures described in the contract shall be held solely responsible for their actions.
