Dial-Up Internet Connections for Home

Overview:
Each student, faculty and staff member has access to free Internet Dial-up
service from CSU. Internet Dial-up accounts are automatically
created for all students, faculty, and staff. Each account has 500 hours of
free Internet Dial-up service each month. We currently have a total of 460 dial-in
modems to serve our campus faculty, staff and students. All modems can be
reached at (216) 258-0045. We do not provide a long distance line.

What's my Internet Dial-up user name and password?
Your account name is your CSU ID number. Your password is your CamusNet/CampusPass password.
If you do not know your CampusPass password, please contact the Call Center at 687-5050.

How do I use the Internet dial-up service?
To use this service, you need to create a dial-up connection on your home computer.
This process usually takes less than 10 minutes. Please read the following instructions,
based upon your version of Windows or MAC. Instructions are also available in
RT1104, MC446/447, and RT403, or you can contact the Call Center at 687-5050.

Is there a time limit?
A faculty member, staff member or student can use their Internet Account for
a total of 500 hours each month. You can contact the Call Center at 687-5050
to check your usage. When you reach 500 hours for the month, your account will
be automatically deactivated for the remainder of that month. It will be automatically
reactivated on the first day of the following month.

What software do I need?
To access your free CSU Internet, you do not need any special
software. Instructions for setting up your computer are available on this page
under "Directions to create a new Internet Dial-up
connection"
For you convenience, we provide a free a virus scanner CD (in RT1104) and various Internet-related
freeware (IAP) (available online
and on CD in General Purpose Labs and RT1104).
Free Internet Access Pack (IAP) Software:
We offer the Internet Access Pack, containing several freeware programs. IAP
is available via the web ( http://iap.csuohio.edu)
or on CD (from RT1104, MC446/447, SH128 and RT403). These are not required,
just handy.
We also offer McAfee Virus Scanning on CD

What hardware do I need?
To use the Internet, you need a dial-up modem for your computer and a telephone

How do I change CampusPass, my password?
CampusPass can be changed in CampusNet. CampusPass is one password used to access multiple systems
- this includes CampusNet, network access on campus, WoWnet, MobileCampus, and Internet use at home.
