Funded by the Ohio Department of Education, this program is designed to extend academic learning and personal growth for gifted high school students. Cleveland State University's 2009 Summer Honors Institute for gifted high school students, recognizes that gifted students need to investigate the real-world applications of their academic and personal gifts and talents. Participants will explore math, physics, the arts, politics, themselves, and other people and how these connect and apply in the creation of personally meaningful and balanced lives. This Institute is the result of collaboration among CSU'`s Honors Program, the College of Education, the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, and the College of Science. Students will have the opportunity to make new friends with similar interests and abilities while engaging in state-of-the-art science and math experiences in university lab facilities. The visual arts, writing workshops and political simulations will utilize our studio art facilities, 21st century classrooms, and computer labs. Mentoring will be provided by current CSU Honors Program students and all instruction will be provided by Cleveland State University faculty. This year, our program expands opportunities to participate by offering a residential option for all courses. This is an experience students from northwest Ohio won't want to miss!
Enrollment in the institute will be limited and only eligible registrants should apply. To be eligible for enrollment, a student must:
