Facilities
Lectures, lab experiments, and computer labs for the Flying Circus of Physics will be performed in the Physics Department in the Science Building in SI-117/118 and in the computer lab in SI-117A. In these laboratories we have state of the art equipment, computers, and software (MathCAD, Data Studio). The Mathematical Kaleidoscope and Politics classes will be conducted in the Main Classroom Building in one of the larger classrooms with desks that can be conveniently rearranged to allow for group activities. The Making Connections portion of the Institute will be held in the university’s physical education building using Woodling Gym, the new recreation center or outdoor fields, and classrooms. Students participating in the Exploring the World of Print and Environmentally Friendly Art session will attend class in the Art Building where they can make use of the studio space. Students in the Imagination for High School Writers class will meet in the Main Classroom Building in large classrooms and small break-out rooms, as well as computer labs. Residential students will be staying in Viking Hall which is managed by American Campus Communities, the nation's premier manager of luxurious, academically oriented student housing communities. In addition to fully furnished, comfortable rooms, Viking Hall is equipped with high speed internet, individual bathrooms, a dining hall, and lounges. Collaboration with the university’s.
