Honors Scholarships

Freshman Applicants:

Beginning with the Fall 2012 class, freshman students admitted to the Honors Program will receive a scholarship that covers full tuition at the in-state tuition rate and associated fees (e.g., lab fees, U-Pass fee). Eligible out-of-state students may also receive a CSU “Voyager” scholarship to help reduce out-of-state tuition costs.

The scholarship is renewable for a maximum of eight semesters. To remain eligible for the honors scholarship, students must maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5. Students who fall below this standard will be placed on Honors probation and will be dismissed from the program if the problem persists. A full explanation of the scholarship rules is available in the Honors Student Handbook.

Freshmen entering the Honors Program who were previously awarded the CSU Freshman Scholars Residence Award are still eligible for that award.  However, the Honors Program scholarship REPLACES the $3000 Freshman Scholars Merit Award.

Junior/Transfer Applicants:

Beginning with the Fall 2012 class upper-division students admitted to the Honors Program will receive a scholarship worth $5000 per academic year. The scholarship is renewable for a maximum of four semesters. To remain eligible for the honors scholarship, students must maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5. Students who fall below this standard will be placed on Honors probation and will be dismissed from the program if the problem persists. A full explanation of the scholarship rules is available in the Honors Student Handbook.

Juniors admitted to the Honors Program who were previously awarded the CSU Freshman Scholars Residence Award are still eligible for that award.  Juniors who were previously awarded the $3000 Freshman Scholars Merit Award will have their scholarship increased to the Honors Program level of $5000 per academic year.

Important Note:

Students admitted prior to Fall 2012 will be governed by the scholarship rules in place at the time of their admission. Continuing students should contact the Director of the Honors Program (p.meiksins@csuohio.edu) if they have any questions concerning scholarship rules.
