About the College

Welcome from Dean

Dean LehfeldtWelcome to the Jack, Joseph & Morton Mandel Honors College!  In the Mandel Honors College we strive to provide an academically challenging curriculum and leadership training for high-achieving students.  Through smaller classes, independent research, opportunities to take graduate courses and work on faculty research projects, students in the Mandel Honors College are pushed to hone their existing skills and talents and to develop new ones.  An honors education is a privilege, but also a responsibility, and so we also encourage leadership development among our students.  Through our Honors College Ambassadors program and other opportunities we encourage our students to be engaged citizens of the College and the larger Cleveland State Community.

Our support for your university career extends to include specialized advising, study areas for group and quiet study available only to students in the College, and the opportunity to live on an Honors floor in the dorms.  We strive to build community among our students through our Honors Lounge, outings to sporting events and theater productions, and other activities designed to give you a home on campus among your fellow students in the College.

My door is always open to all students—prospective and current!  Stop by and visit and let’s talk about how the College can enrich your experience at CSU.
