Two social media experiences to boost your savvy as part of our 2013 School of Communication reunion. One information-rich session will focus on helping social media beginners take their first steps, while the other will focus on next steps for those who are already familiar with the basics. Both sessions are free and open to School of Communication Reunion attendees as well as all Homecoming participants.

Going Social 101 is a 45-minute session geared towards those who are not yet familiar with all social media has to offer the professional communicator—this is also a great session for those who may not use social media professionally, but who are interested in using it in their personal life. The session will include a brief introduction to platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn as well as a hands-on demonstration. Participants will also receive a takeaway instruction packet with detailed information on the basics of each platform.

Going Social 102 is a 45-minute session geared towards those who have already created their social media profiles, or who already work with social media platforms professionally. This session will focus on how social media platforms differ, and how communicators must use different strategies to communicate on each. Participants will learn some of best strategies for listening to their audiences and communicating successfully using social media, as well as how to evaluate their performance and measure ROI on each platform. Participants will receive a takeaway guide to understanding Facebook page analytics and other social media metrics.

From CSU to ESPN with Dwayne Bray, ’88, Senior Coordinating Producer, ESPN

Dwayne Bray’s incredible career has taken him from Northeast Ohio to the front line of sports reporting – from his early days as a student reporter and baseball player at Shaw High School in East Cleveland to his current post at ESPN – America’s foremost sports reporting outlet. Dwayne oversees the investigative reporters for ESPN’s "Outside the Lines" and "SportsCenter" programs. Dwayne and his team of reporters cover the most important breaking stories in athletics, including the Rutgers University men’s basketball coach fall out, the National Football League’s growing concussion crisis and steroids in Major League Baseball.

Childish Gambino first popped onto the scene as a young writer for NBC's hit show, 30 Rock. Today, he is best known for his role as Troy Barnes on the comedy series, Community. Gambino's musical career blossomed in 2011 when he signed to Glassnote Records and released his first album, Camp, with the label. Although his talent is showcased as a comedic writer and upcoming rapper, he is known for his rising career as a stand-up comedian as well.

With their valid Cleveland State University Student ID, students can purchase $10 General Admission Standing Room Only Floor tickets (limited number available) or $5 General Admission tickets (located in the lower and upper levels). In addition, CSU students have the opportunity to purchase 1 (one) additional companion seat at the same prices. ID names and numbers will be verified and students will have to sign for their ticket. Tickets for CSU Students will go on-sale on Wednesday, September 4th in the Student Center Atrium from 11:00 a.m.- 2:00 p.m. Shortly after this time, they will be available at the Wolstein Center Box Office and select other times on CSU's Campus.

This is a time for past and present members of Greek organizations along with other CSU alum to get together to share a great time and watch a good football game.
