Our Team comprises of people from various cultures and each one of us have played a key role in making this committee.
Mission:
To support and represent the graduate student populace as one
voice, advocating the needs, concerns and supportive efforts to
enhance the higher education learning experience.
Vision:
To address the needs of graduate students, improve communication,
make recommendations to advance the University mission, as well
as enhance student, faculty and staff relationships.
Membership:
The success of our efforts will require involvement from each
College, Program, and graduate student’s participation to
support our efforts by becoming involved.
The longevity of our organization will require dedicated student
elected officials, student volunteers, CSU leadership, faculty
and staff support to succeed.
We are currently accepting NEW members from all Colleges and
Programs for the following positions:
*College Trustees
*College Liaisons
*General Advocate Members
* Any interested graduate or doctoral students welcome to apply.
**Accepting undergraduate referrals to become Honorary Candidates
in their senior year at CSU.
Objective 1:
Inform graduate students at all seven colleges and four campus
locations of our organization for participation and support.
Strategy 1.1:
Obtain support from College Deans;
involve faculty/staff to assist with notifying students; verbal
referrals; post flyers; attend departmental special events; and
designate a G.S.A.C. member to the appointed area.
Objective 2:
Utilize various forms of communication
to introduce organization on campus.
Strategy 2.1:
Increase marketing efforts through
flyers, campus mailbag, Viking planner, CSU hyperlink, customized
email account, personal business cards, customized event table
wear, social networking sites, classroom/special event recruitment
drives and mass email blasts.
Objective 3:
Organize consistent social network
events that are planned with excellence, fun, purposeful, two-three
hours, minimal cost, exclusive to graduate students only, diverse
and welcoming.
Strategy 3.1:
Host 1st Friday social events each
1st Friday of the month during school year.
Strategy 3.2:
Participate in calendar events
to engage, intermingle and petition student involvement.
Strategy 3.3:
Utilize “The City is our
Campus Discount Ticket Program” for special outings.
Objective 4:
Celebrate student achievement
at annual G.S.A.C family day at the park.
Strategy 4.1:
Host end of the year barbeque at
local fun-park.
Objective 5:
Host G.S.A.C panel discussions
to ensure goals and objectives strategically align with student
desires.
Strategy 5.1:
Host annual spring forum for graduate
students with G.S.A.C panel that includes Executive Members and
advising Deans to determine how the committee can better serve
their CSU advanced degree seeking experience.
