Keep Your Financial Aid
You should plan ahead and be prepared to take the necessary steps needed to meet the requirements in order to keep your financial aid.
Renewal FAFSA
If you are currently attending Cleveland State and receiving financial aid, you must file a Renewal FAFSA to be considered for financial aid for the next academic year. You can renew your FAFSA online at www.fafsa.ed.gov after January 1. Cleveland State's priority deadline is February 15.
Satisfactory Academic Progress
Students must achieve satisfactory academic progress toward their degree in order to maintain eligibility for most types of financial aid. To maintain satisfactory academic progress, students must meet the following three components: grade point average, completion rate requirement, and maximum time frame for degree completion. Additionally, students must be eligible to continue in their program of study in order to receive financial aid. Students also need to be aware of the impact incomplete grades, withdrawals, the absence of letter grades and the treatment of transfer credits can have on their financial aid status.
