Featured Researcher Video - Drs. Dan Simon, Ton van den Bogert and Hanz Richter

Dr. Simon is a Professor in the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering. He received a PhD from Syracuse University, an MS from the University of Washington, and a BS from Arizona State University (all in Electrical Engineering). He spent about 15 years in industry before coming to Cleveland State University in 1999. His work experience includes engineering contributions to the aerospace, automotive, agricultural, biomedical, process control, and software industries. Dr. van den Bogert is a Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and also the Parker-Hannifin Endowed Chair in Human Motion and Control. He has previously been on the faculty at the University of Calgary (1993-1998) and the Cleveland Clinic (1998-2010). His academic degrees are from the University of Utrecht (Netherlands), including a BS/MS degree in Physics and Applied Mathematics, and a PhD degree in Veterinary Science for work on locomotion in horses. Dr. Richter is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. He obtained both his doctorate and master's degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Oklahoma State University in 2001 and 1997, respectively. Prior to joining CSU, he spent two and a half years at the NASA John C. Stennis Space Center as a National Research Council Research Associate.
