Step 15: Getting Involved

School is definitely not all work and no play. While you're a student at CSU, study hard, play hard and get involved in the many campus activities and educational program opportunities.

Study Abroad

The Study Abroad program is operated by the Center for International Programs and Services and offers CSU students the opportunity to study in various countries throughout the world including, Mexico, Africa and India. Short-term, semester, and long term and summer programs are available to interested students.

Athletics

CSU is an NCAA Division I school and has 17 varsity sports. Men and women's sports include basketball, swimming, diving, soccer, tennis and golf. All students get into the games free with their Viking ID card.

Recreation Center

The Recreation Center is available free to all full-time students and provides outstanding recreational, wellness and educational opportunities. Personal trainers, fitness classes, dance, yoga, intramural sports and a smoothie bar are all available for your enjoyment.

Student Life

The Department of Student Life is responsible for designing diverse campus programming and events that promote student engagement and development. The City is our Campus Ticket program allows students to experience events hosted by local merchants and vendors in Cleveland at significantly discounted rates. The Student Government Association (SGA) are elected student body representatives who represent the student body population. In addition, students can choose to be part of a religious, social or major specific organization. There are more than 150 organizations to choose from and CSU encourages students to get involved in something.

Greek Life is active at CSU for several national and local fraternities and sororities. By participating in Greek Life, students develop skill sets and networking opportunities that will last a lifetime. In addition to student organizations, campus events, service and leadership and Greek Life, the Department of Student Life is responsible for student media, locker rentals, and judicial affairs.
