Step 7: Financial Aid

To receive financial aid you must:

  • Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid online at www.fafsa.ed.gov.
  • Once this has been processed, you will receive an award letter detailing the aid that will be offered to you.
  • Sign the Financial Aid Award Letter and return it to the Campus411 department.
  • When you receive your tuition bill it will not reflect the financial aid you have been awarded.
  • To receive the maximum amount of Aid you must complete the FAFSA before the priority deadline each year. Cleveland State’s priority deadline is February 15.

Transferring Financial Aid

If you have received financial aid at a different institution for part of the academic year, the remainder of the aid at that school is not transferable. If you are transferring to the University during the mid-year, you should add Cleveland State to your FAFSA. Financial aid loan eligibility is determined in part on your transfer credit evaluation. If additional credits are transferable to CSU, a student may be eligible for additional borrowing.
