For federal financial aid considerations you will be classified a dependent student unless you can answer "yes" to at least one of the following questions:

• Are you 24 years old or older? (The birthday must occur before January 1 prior to the start of the academic year for which you are applying for financial aid.)
• Will you be working on a master's or doctoral program?
• Are you currently married?
• Do you have children who receive more than half of their support from you?
• Do you have dependents (other than your children or spouse) who live with you and who receive more than half of their support from you?
• Are you an orphan or ward of the court or were you a ward of the court until age 18?
• Are you a veteran of the U.S. Armed Forces?
